Event Recap
Women Founders Shine Bright on the Road to LionCage
The energy was high on March 26 at Penn State Brandywine as i2n/CCEDC and Chester County United Way hosted the first-ever Women Founders Pitch Competition, part of the Road to LionCage series leading up to the big event at Penn State Great Valley.
Seven incredible women founders pitched their startups, with Caitlin West taking first place for Alivio Technologies Inc., focused on innovative care for chronic pain patients. Ginny Palmieri earned second for myNextory, a career-path platform helping users map out their futures. Caitlin also earned automatic entry to LionCage on November 14.
The evening featured a stellar panel discussion and a judging panel packed with entrepreneurial expertise: Yasmin George, Susan Springsteen, Ted Kardon, and Jaclyn Gallo, who also moderated the discussion with George, Springsteen, and Julianne Gardner, founder of Bottimals and a 2024 LionCage winner.
Chancellor Marilyn J. Wells celebrated the event’s growth, reflecting on the journey from vision to reality. Tony Mattei, Director of Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing, shared the impact of these events: “We’re proud to support founders across Southeastern PA.”
Next up on the Road to LionCage: the Open Category Pitch Competition on May 21, proudly sponsored by Epic Food Bites LLC. The momentum is building—and these women founders are blazing the trail forward!
